I created, research, co-write, and host Artsplained, an offbeat, surreal, art explainer comedy show on YouTube.
With fewer than 1 in 4 Americans visiting an art museum or gallery each year, this independently-produced, semi-monthly show aspires to expose “high art” as an exciting, often relatable, and sometimes even humorous outlet for better understanding creativity and culture.
Videos range from discussing art censorship to blasphemous religious artworks to the emergence of “experiences” at museums to the worth of a celebrity-turned-artist.
The most successful video has gained over 140,000 views and was a collaboration with music critic Anthony Fantano. Artsplained has also collaborated with Pulitzer Prize-winning art critic Jerry Saltz as well as David Liebe Hart, who is known for his work in Adult Swim’s “Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!”
Artsplained has been featured in Playstation LifeStyle. It is produced by Downhill Media.
